Dento-Facial Aesthetics

Offering complete Dento-Facial aesthetics is another step forward in being able to provide more comprehensive patient care and attain overall better treatment outcomes. A smile goes beyond just beautiful teeth... thatís why we continue to be at the forefront of dermal injectables.

Dentists are better positioned than most health practitioners to offer this holistic approach to dento-facial treatment because they spend 2 out of their 4 years studying medicine and the other 2 years studying facial anatomy including all there is to know about the skin, its layers and functionality.

What is Botulinum Toxin?

Medical Grade Botulinum toxin is a purified protein. Anyone who is lactose intolerant (who only suffers from an upset tummy, can still use one of the brands. Lactose allergy is more directed to those people who are more seriously affected, i.e. Anaphylaxis).

This does not mean that you cannot get the procedure done, it means that you have to use a different brand of botulinum toxin which does not have lactose included in the formulation.

Most importantly, there are no bacteria, alive or dead in this product.

What are Dermal Injectables?

Dermal injectables fill areas of the dermis of the skin. As we age, structural components of the skin are lost, leading to wrinkles, folds and sagging of the skin. Injecting filler into the skin to fill that gap and prop it up means the surrounding skin is forced to stretch slightly resulting in a smoother appearance.

There are 3 different types of fillers. Permanent, Semi- Permanent and Temporary. We do not recommend using permanent or semi-permanent fillers because this is a clear indication that the body is unable to absorb and breakdown this product.

Here at iDental surgery we use temporary materials containing Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This product dissipates naturally over time leaving no permanent changes. It is a gel-like consistency to lift your skin and iron out grooves as well as build up areas like the cheeks, nose and chin for improved aesthetic results and healthier skin.

What are the side effects?

The medical-grade products we choose to use are very safe, with minimal potential side effects/ complications and predictable clinical outcomes.

Only qualified practitioners are allowed to purchase prohibited substances. Any other clinic out there which offers these services apart from a dermatologist and plastic surgeon are actually in breach of guidelines and technically speaking are breaking the law. Nurses included, are not allowed to administer any form or brand of dermal injectables.

How often should it be administered?

Initially it is recommended that you have quarterly reviews where you will most likely need to have a touch up. Eventually the time gap between appointments will get bigger. So eventually every 6months and maybe even longer.
