Snorers

Snoring is NOT normal.

Snoring means that you stop breathing in your sleep.

It signals that something is blocking your airway, preventing you from getting a clear path of air in and out of your lungs. This is called airway obstruction. Airway obstruction can be caused by being overweight, enlarged adenoids (commonly called tonsils),  upper airway obstruction like a crooked nose, previous facial injury, abnormal growths in the airway, sinus infection and much more.

Snoring is also associated with clenching and grinding, otherwise known as bruxism.

Referral to an Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) specialist is common so as to fix the actual problem, not try to address the symptom.

If a night mouthguard is recommended for you, then we choose Somnomed®. Please note that it will not work for everyone as the underlying problem has to be found and fixed.
